Valmont Street Lighting Poles Decorate New City Center of Greenfield, WI
The City of Greenfield wanted to create a new city center that would provide a well-lit and inviting pedestrian atmosphere as well as excellent lighting for traffic flow and control. Importantly, the initiative would enhance access to a new upscale shopping center and various boutique shops.
To create a landscaped boulevard, Greenfield needed to widen the existing street and install a new lighting system that would incorporate a contemporary pole and fixture assembly. Well known for its ability to create a pole design that would incorporate modern aesthetics and structural integrity, Valmont had the pleasure of working together with Greenfield on this project. To match the upscale feel of the street, Valmont produced various designs utilizing suitable pole, arm, base and finish combinations. Our custom design group and a local engineering firm narrowed the focus down to a selection of three different designs based on the city’s needs. This made it easy for the city’s review committee to choose the one closest to their vision and criteria.
Due to the united team effort between all parties, the project met all of its time and budget goals. To the great delight of the leaders and residents of Greenfield, the new city center officially opened at a ribbon cutting ceremony in summer 2016.
